I always feel terrible for leaving Zac out because he is never the Hanson I ~choose~ to draw, I doodle him now and again but I never sit down to draw with the intention of making something lookworthy. Still I’ve been sketching him more lately and the doodles in my class notes look a lot more like Zac then they used to! Which is good I guess. I’m trying to find a way to draw all the brothers in a cartoon style but that’s still recognizable as ~them~

I like to think Taylor’s strife specibus would be rattailkind, which is more or less used like Aradia’s whipkind, only attatched…..to…his head. Thanks for the feedback! I will probably end up making a few different sprites for each, because I really like all their goofy outfits and I think Zac needs one exlusively for the braids and sunglasses. What are the more memorable/recognizable outfit combinations Hanson wore in 1997-98? I get that there was a lot of brightly colored, average sporty boy’s department-type clothing with a few regrettable eyesores here and there (leather pants on a 12 year old, buttoned down shirt with a really bizzare pattern that appears to be…a….farm?? Tay? What????), denim jeans, clunky boots, over shirts, etcetera. But are there any specific outfits you think of the kids wearing? I know it’s a weird question, but for example, I can’t think of youngZac without seeing those schoolbus yellow doc martens.
(This is for spritemaking reasons, because hansonstuck is gonna be an actual thing. :/ !!!)
I agree! There are times on the Twitter page when Taylor or Zac will forget to sign their names but it’s still totally obvious who’s typing. I’m so glad I don’t have to make up pesterlog typing quirks for them, it’s so hilarious to me that it’s just already THERE. “Zac songs” (at least the ones he sings, and by singing I assume also mainly contributing lyrics to) have my favorite lyrics. Especially lyrics from The Walk. They DO all have really distinct writing styles even on stuff that’s actually edited, like some of the liner notes for the fan EPs. I’d know which one of them wrote it without looking most of the time. None of them are what I would call good at writing, but Zac… Zac is probably the only person in the world I’ll forgive for not knowing the difference between there and their. It amazes me how a guy who can write such killer lyrics can be so barely coherent in prose.

Ike uses :) more often then he’s used :} but I’m so inclined to only use the latter in hansonstuck because yeah, it really does look like his face! Ike has that very pronounced cleft above his mouth and the thin, pointed “cupid’s bow” upper lip which is really odd but totally endearing!
Er…I’ve actually drawn out their lands, prototypings, hero names and strife specibi on large sheets of paper currently hanging in the common area of me and my roomate’s dorm. As soon as I get back I am taking pictures and uploading it here, hahaha. Oh man, why do I suddently want to doctor some HS sprites and take this thing all the way…
Hanson typing styles
Everyone in Homestuck has a unique typing quirk/style, yeah? Well, over the past few months of being subscribed to Hansonmusic’s twitter, I’ve noticed that depending on who is updating- I, T, or Z- It’s pretty obvious just by consistencies in punctuation or sentence structure.
This is no where near the first homestuck/hanson crossover query I’ve mulled over. I swear to god I’m going to figure every bit of trivial information out by the time winter break rolls around. Get ready for a big and terrible surprise.
Isaac’s font color would be green. He always uses proper punctuation, capitalization and spelling. Short, frequent exclamitory remarks. Sentences structured properly and always ended with a . or ! unless followed by a smiley: :) or :}
I like to imagine this translates well from the way Isaac interjects during interviews (Because whenever I imagine them talking, it’s always in the context of talking over each other?), by raising his voice and saying something snippy and good natured that usually ends with a one-liner and him laughing at his own joke- even if no one else does.
Taylor types in red, uses decent spelling and capitalization with much less consistent punctuation. Usually speaks in longer, drawn out sentences. Replies in pairs of sentences, the first punctuated with a ., …, and rarely, !. The second is never punctuated. I hope this implies Tay trailing off or being cut off, in the way he seems to speak the slowest and with most effort, taking questions very seriously and trying really hard to say the right words, but more often than not having Zac or Ike talk over him and finish his sentences.
Zac has terrible spelling (of the iPhone autocorrect variety), capitalizes unreliably and punctuates unemphatically, using many commas in one sentence. Easily the most careless typer of the three. IRL speaking habits more or less unpredictable, from bursting into ADDesque highs and yelling accents into the camera to speaking softly and timidly with a bit of a whine? All their voices kind of have an underlying whine. I’m inclined to think kidZac might type with more exclamations or caps lock syndrome, because this crossover would take place in the MON era (16, 14, 11). Zac would type in blue. Also, of all three kids playing sBurb, Zac would get the most into it- he is the gamerbro of the three.
Font colors based on favorite colors via MON era magazine interviews. Strife specibus, kernelsprite prototypings, and “Land of…” planets and hero names more or less decided but not finalized.
